How the idea for Bolbie the Bear came about:
While vacationing with our friends, we discovered a game they played with
their young grandchild. Everywhere they went, they brought a small, stuffed
bear with them. It was a gift to their grand daughter when she was very
young.
Everywhere we went, we took pictures and the bear was always front and
center. At night when they face-timed their granddaughter, her eyes lit up
every time she saw that bear.
When they returned home from their trip, they showed her all of the
pictures they took. This little bear helped our friends connect with their
grandchild in an amazing way.
We wanted to create a character that would help grandparents and parents
connect and build those special relationships with the grandchildren and
children in their lives.
“A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account
was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove. But the
world may be different, because I was important in the life of a child.”

If you really think about life and what is important, it is not the “things” we
accumulate, it is about the love we shared with family and friends. We
strongly believe that the most important thing we do on this earth for the
short time we are here is to love God and protect and love our children.
We hope the Adventures of Bolbie will help you do that!
Let the adventures begin!
God bless,
What to name a bear?
While writing this book, we needed to come up with a name for the
bear. We thought about Bruce, or maybe Baker. We wanted the
perfect name- one that was easy to remember.
Then, I had a conversation with a friend and he said, “Name it
something unique. Remember, 15 years ago, no one had ever heard
of Google.”
After I heard this, I was reminded of a story about my boss’ son,
Micah. When Micah became an uncle for the first time, his niece
chose his name for him. She called him Bolbie.
So there you go... we have no idea where she got that name from,
but she sure did give us a new, unique name to use for our bear.
Thanks Sadie Beth, I hope our Bolbie brings a lot of smiles to kids everywhere.
